Like most here, I have used similar hair products for 2 decades. I’ve lived in 11 countries during that time and so I’ve had the unique privilege to test hair products from all over the world, but economical and expensive organic, mass produced and hand crafted, from Africa to Asia, Europe, North and South America.

This version of Reuzel, the extreme hold matte pomade, is the best I’ve ever had. I now buy it in the big tins from the website because when I get it in the US it only comes in the medium large sizes, but the big tin they have online. I also buy and have the mini tins for overnight and few day trips for my carryon.

I use organic body washes and shampoos and lotions and the specific brands that I use are not mass produced available everywhere. I take pride in my body and health and this product, believe it or not, compliments all of those. I love this product and cannot praise it enough.

My hair type is coarse and curly. This helps control it and you can add hair spray after if you want, or don’t want. This stuff is that awesome. It washes out and doesn’t crack or flake.

This product is about as firm as you can get without making your hair hard and crunchy. Lots of hold, body, and texture that lasts from early morning to bedtime. It's also matte, but not too matte or overly dry. You can also finger tweak your hair during the day if need be (water unnecessary) but you probably wont need to. Reuzel extreme hold will keep your style and structure while still maintaining some degree of malleability, pliability, and flexibilty. Lastly, it's also creamy and goes on smoothly with very little tug and pull even on bone dry hair. This is something I have never seen in any stronger hold product.

To qualify this review: I have SUPER OILY HAIR, and it's graying. I wear my hair in a very Schorem Pompadour that has streaks of gray and white on the sides. Cool look, right? But... with too much sheen it looks a bit Gordon Ghecko-y. I love the scent, the packaging, and the application feel. My wife described the scent as a very "high-end" smell. I agree; The scent made me feel better dressed. But... because of my hair type, the product didn't actually hold well, and it wasn't matte on my hair, but again - I have super oily hair. So, I'm not getting more, but I am envious of those who can use it! ALSO: NOTE THE REVIEWS ON AMAZON - people are getting imitation product. I ordered mine from Ruetzel, and think that's a better way to be sure you are getting the real thing.

First time to purchase this and wasn’t sure what to expect. I like a product that can easily tame my hair. I used it when my hair was slightly damp. One thing that’s nice is you don’t have to use much product for it to do the job. The scent was light and refreshing. The hold?? Amazing!! I was expecting it to fail after a few hours, but it stayed all night and I still could’ve styled my hair the next day. It doesn’t leave residue like other products and washes out fairly easy too. Plus, your hair doesn’t feel hard or looked clumped together either. Just apply the suggested amount and you’ll have no issues styling it to your preference.
